Anonymous asked: how many photos should be included in a photographer's portfolio? do you also include a bio? how do you choose the look of your portfolio?
there’s no rule, but i usually include up to 25 photos. i don’t include a bio, because i take my portfolio to meetings with me so whatever they want to know i’m there to answer, plus they have some background info on me by the time i first got in touch with editors or publishers. i include only my best pictures and i try to keep the ones that have a similar feel together and i try to balance bw and colors, boys and girls, commercial and fashion works. if i’ve included 3 bw, i’ll include 4 colours for counterbalance. i hope i could help you somehow. x

I was born under the influence of the bad moon, a blood moon.
The moon that controls the tides, controls my heart and my mind.
Out of flesh and bone I was carved, a puppet to men’s fantasies. Like a poison, I come in a small container that barely contains me at all. I spill over, seeping drop by drop into your thoughts.
The beating of my heart is the same as of the ceremonial drums. My breath — the ghostly wind.
Under the bad moon I loved you, a child of the sun, warm and toned.
